Best of the Best CPRS Award 2009

Built on a 1.25-acre block in a mixed-use area, the park offers this high density neighborhood a beautiful outdoor space for play, relaxation and exercise. Through a series of workshops, input was obtained on the community’s interests, priorities and concerns. The resulting park offers multiple complementary uses within a small site, and has become a favorite place for family gatherings, birthday parties, and active and passive outdoor recreation. The park’s landscaping is “Bay-Friendly.” The restroom, complete with a green roof, is sustainable and maintainable, and was designed in accordance with CPTED principles.
