This 36-acre Central Park and Community Center is a landmark destination for the City of San Ramon. The park’s success garnered the Tri-Valley Magazine’s Award for Excellence for Best Park in 2004. The master plan responded to the community’s need for sports facilities, as well as event spaces for weddings and festivals. We worked closely with the Steering Committee and different user groups to create a memorable place that accommodated their requirements. Phase I catered to different user groups from the start. Amenities included the community center and surrounding lake, the interactive play area, basketball and tennis courts, and the organizing spine that connects all elements of the park. The subsequent five phases added more activities and nodes. Due to the success of the park, a school was added, and the City acquired bordering parcels of land to increase the park area.
