An extensive expansion and remodelling plan revitalizes the campus with clear circulation routes, entries and lush outdoor spaces.
We presented conceptual alternatives and progressed to the design development phase. Numerous meetings with elaborate graphic presentations were held with the college staff, design team and the City of San Mateo.
Four main fountain plazas punctuate and create identity nodes within this large campus. Three new buildings, as well as the swim center, are additional features in the expansion. Entry drives and drop-off areas were restructured for improved circulation and arrival experience. Challenges include fixed existing utility locations, hilly topography, and ADA requirements.
